Season start with 2 x 1st position, 3 x 3rd position and 1 x 5th position
For the forth time the Nascar Whelen Euro Series started their season in Spain at the Valencia NASCAR Fest 2017 at Circuit Ricardo Tormo. The starting field was stronger than ever before, 10 drivers in Elite 1 had the chance to be on the podium, also in Elite 2 a very similar situation.
Our DF1 Chevy SS #66 was perfectly prepared by our new chief mechanic Patrick Poteau, so that Frenchman Christophe Bouchut had the chance to be on the podium in the first race of Elite1 on Saturday. At the second race in Elite 1 on Sunday, Christophe Bouchut came in fifth position and now stands in 2nd position in all-over standing in Elite1 after the first weekend.
DF1 driver Christophe Bouchut:” I was really looking for the first race. From the previous tests I knew that my DF1 Chevy is top for season 2017. A big thank you to the mechanic crew, they did a very good job and I am looking forward to Brands Hatch being in 2nd position in the championship.”
DF1 Rookie Maciej Dreszer participated in his first NASCAR race and his “baptism of fire” ended in a great weekend – in both Elite 2 races he was 1st as Rookie and both times in 3rd position in over-all. Therefore he was twice as 3rd over-all on the podium in Elite 2. A great performance for the young polish driver.
DF1 driver Maciej Dreszer: “ After the tests, I was expecting a good result in Valencia, but now I just can say, it`s like a dream come true. I hope I can repeat these results at Brands Hatch. I already have a good feeling in DF1 car #66 and I like my new team”.
Also in the new established “Elite Club” DF1 Nascar Racing is participating with Brasilian DF1 Driver Deo Alves, who showed a strong performance and ended the weekend in 6th position.
DF1 driver Deo Alves: “ I am looking forward to my next race weekend in Hockenheim.”
DF1 Team manager David Prewitt: “ After our very complicated race year in 2016, I am very happy that we have started the new season with good results and that we are at the moment in 3rd position in the team standings.”
