The factory team dexwet-df1 racing signed Guillaume Deflandre for the four 2019 NASCAR Whelen Euro Series season playoff races. The Belgian will compete in the semi-finals at Hockenheim and in the finals at Zolder in the Elite1 Division, what will be his home race. The 23-year old race driver already has plenty experience with the team, as he raced with the Austrians in 2015 and 2016 in the Elite2 Division.

In the NWES, Deflandre was very successful: He won four races, grabbed eleven podium finishes and was two times on pole in 37 starts. In four Elite2 years, the future Dexwet driver led 49 race laps. He was a title contender in 2018 until he struggled with technical issues at the Zolder finals. Deflandre will give his Elite1 Division debut in 2019.

“We are looking forward to Guillaume’s comeback,” said motorsport boss Norbert Walchhofer. “He is a fast and talented driver, who proved to perform strong in the past. We know him well from his time with df1-racing and it’s great to have him in our line up. He will compete in the Elite1 Division in the remaining 2019 season. We work hard to have him in our team also full time in the 2020 NWES season.”

“I missed the 2019 regular season, because I was not able to find the right budget,” said Deflandre on his Euro NASCAR comeback. “My manager and I found a way, to compete in the playoffs. I’m looking forward to race for dexwet-df1 racing during the remaining two race weekends. I will give my best to make the team proud. This will be my Elite1 Division debut and I’m looking forward to the new experience and challenge.”

dexwet-df1 racing is testing their Green Tigers a lot in the summer break. The playoff’s start will take place on 21-22 September at Hockenheim, Germany. The season final is scheduled on 5-6 October at Zolder, Belgium.
