Freddie Hunt 2nd on NASCAR debut at Valencia/Spain

What a race at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia! Freddie Hunt made up for the disappointment of Saturday with a great performance on sunday morning. After he got involved in an accident early on the day before, Hunt had to start way back in 21st place on the grid.
He stayed out of the way of the early trouble in the pack when the safety car had to be deployed two times and when the green flag dropped again, he quickly made progress towards the front. Showing some great overtaking skills, Freddie Hunt came home in 2nd place in the Rookie Cup, overall 8. so on his first outing in the Nascar Whelen Euro Series he made it to the podium and picked up a well-earned trophy. Well Done Freddie!
A tough end to our race weekend saw Mathias Lauda finish in 10th on Saturday and 14th place in the Sunday final ELITE 1 races. After making a good start he got pushed off and the #66 DF1 Racing Chevrolet suffered lots of damage on the bodywork. He managed to keep going though and could make the best of 2 late Safety Car periods to bring home some championship points.
Meanwhile the #88 Chevrolet of Simone Monforte was back on the grid after a great effort by the whole team to get the car ready to race. With very limited track time he did manage a clean race with no mistakes and brought home an outstanding 10th place, on Sunday/Race 2
