The team from Austria celebrates its championship title and runner-up title in the ELITE Club Division.
An eventful season comes to an end for Dexwet-df1 Racing! At the Circuit Zolder the team impressed with solid performances right before the winter break. New team member Advait Deodhar from India
celebrated the ELITE Club championship title with Dexwet CEO Clemens Sparowitz, who finished
second in the ELITE Club Division.
In the ELITE 1 Division Christophe Bouchut convinced with two important top 10 results.
On Saturday, Bouchut managed to qualify for the Superpole. The Frenchman started the race from tenth place. After the start, Bouchut made up several places in the #66 Green Tiger. In the final phase he had an intense duel with Thomas Ferrando. The Dexwet-df1 driver finally finished on a strong seventh place.
In the second race Bouchut manoeuvred his Chevrolet Camaro, which shines in the colours of filter specialist Dexwet, back to seventh place. In a thrilling race the Frenchman left Dylan Derdaele from Belgium behind him. Two top 10 results at the final in Belgium are a strong result, also because Bouchut could not participate in two events in 2018.
„It was important and great for me to start in the last race of the NWES in Zolder with Dexwet-df1
Racing,“ said Bouchut. „It is always important to participate in the last event of the season to prepare for the coming year. The races in Zolder were very interesting and successful for us. We didn’t manage to win or finish on the podium, but you have to remember that I haven’t driven NASCAR since May and the car hasn’t been raced in ELITE 1 since then. Because of an accident in the ELITE 2 the mechanics even had to rebuild the car. There were two really fair and clean races without any contacts. The team did a great job!“
In the ELITE Club Division Sparowitz secured second place in the overall standings. The Austrian
delivered a solid performance at the four-kilometre Circuit Zolder and beat his compatriot and former
champion Andreas Kuchelbacher. Sparowitz had no chance against Advait Deodhar, who will take the
wheel for Dexwet-df1 Racing in the ELITE 2 Division next season. The Indian clinched the championship victory with a six-point lead.
„I’m very happy to have held second place in the championship,“ said Sparowitz. „Overall, it was a
balanced performance throughout the season. I got the best out of it and gained important experience.
The idea of creating a Dexwet factory team with df1 Racing in the 2018 season paid off.“
„That was a good preparation for the further marketing activities that will be carried out from autumn
onwards. I thank motorsport boss Norbert Walchhofer as well as to the entire mechanics team. NASCAR is an important marketing tool for Dexwet to make the company better known. Next season we want to attack as a team and compete for the title in all divisions.“
Champion Deodhar says: „It’s just great. I can’t believe it yet and I have to prick myself first. It’s just
incredible, I’m riding in Europe for the first time and I’m already a champion! A dream has come true.
Zolder is one of the coolest tracks in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series calendar. I’m already looking
forward to the 2019 season in the ELITE 2“.
Even though the season of the NASCAR Wheel Euro Series is officially over, the team has a lot of work to do during winter. In November, the team will move into its new workshop. Negotiations with potential new drivers are also underway. The first test is already scheduled for December. There is a lot to do! A NASCAR highlight will take place on 18th November. The team will travel to Munich to participate at the popular NASCAR final party by MotorvisionTV Germany.
