NWES Finals with DF1 NASCAR Racing Team in Zolder this weekend

Malcharek aims third place in rookie ranking
At the upcoming weekend the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series Finals take place in Zolder (BEL). The Austrian DF1 NASCAR Racing Team starts with its Chevrolet No. 66. For the first time since Tours Mathias Lauda is at wheel again in Elite 1. In Elite 2 rookie Christian Malcharek fights for points. The 24 years old Czech simmers for his first start in Zolder and he has quite a job to do.
Of course, Malcharek hopes for a weekend without any accident. His aim is still to secure the third place in the rookie ranking. “I will do my very best for that and I feel very confident of getting a top speed car by my mechanics. I know, it is a hard job to realise the third place. But I finally hope, I can absolve my race problem-free, so that my performance reflects in my placement.”
Lauda did two races for DF1 Racing in this season. End of June, he was fourth and fifth placed in Tours. “It was his special request participating in the Finals. The whole team is glad about his release by Aston Martin for this weekend. Of course, we wish, Mathias can do much more races in 2016 for our team, even perhaps the complete season”, so DF1 Racing team manager David Prewitt.
As in Magione also in Zolder double points are awarded. A fact, wich Prewitt puts in a positive mood, too. “Two thrilling races on Saturday and Sunday with double scoring are a good cause to hope, that Christian will finish his first season with a sense of achievement.”
Furthermore DF1 Racing looks towards the upcoming season at the last NWES race weekend. In a media conference on Saturday DF1 Racing will present a NASCAR newcomer with a very well-known name…
