Two top 10‘s for Christophe Bouchut

The Frenchmen scored important points at the NASCAR GP Italy
Dexwet-DF1 Racing started with two cars at the Autodromo die Franciacorta in Italy. Christophe Bouchut drove the #66 in the ELITE 1 Division. Bela Szilagyi debuted in the same car in the ELITE Club Division and team boss Clemens Sparowitz gave the new #99 its first ever run in the ELITE Club.
In final free practice of the ELITE 1 Bouchut showed, how good his “Green Tiger” is. The Dexwet works driver ended up sixth with a margin of 0.927 seconds to the leader.
The Dexwet-DF1 Team recompensed itself: In the first race Bouchut showed some great maneuvers and fought himself back into the top 10 step by step. At the end he scored a solid ninth place. The season opener in Valencia was very unlucky for the team. The first top 10 of the year was a relief for the whole squad.
Bouchut finished eighth after 25 laps in the second race. The Dexwet-DF1 team made a big jump in the overall standings: Bouchut is sharing the 14th spot with Romain Iannetta. It was a good weekend for the works team of Dexwet, the specialist for filter solutions.
“Both races were a little bit frustration because I was faster than the guy in front of me”, said Bouchut. “Honestly it could be much more better results for us with out that difficulty to overtake this guy. Thanks to the team and mechanics they did a great job now with some better speed in strike line we can hope for stronger results in England.”
“For our team it was a very satisfying weekend,” said team boss Sparowitz. “Our cars back home with no damage and Christophe showed spectacular performance in the 66 car moving up field in both races. The races were really exciting and a lot of restarts had to be survived, so two top 10 positions really mean something in such a huge field of nearly 30 cars.”
Strong races in the ELITE Club Division
The “Green Tiger #99” gave its debut in the ELITE Club Division in Italy. Teamboss Clemens Sparowitz was behind the wheel of the new car. The Austrian was second on Thursday and fourth on Friday. In the overall standings of the Event Sparowitz finished fourth with only a small margin to his competitors on the podium. It was a good weekend for the Dexwet CEO.
Bela Szilagyi, who drove the #66 in the ELITE Club, debuted in the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series. On Thursday he finished ninth. At Friday he ended up eighth with only a few tenths of a second behind the drivers in front of him. In the overall standings of the event Szilagyi finished seventh. The German driver felt very comfortable and had a lot of fun driving a NWES car. He is now planning and preparing to race in ELITE 2 during the semi finals at the legendary Hockenheimring.
“My dream came true, real racing in a real race car,” said Szilagyi. “My goal was not, to be competitive in the ELITE Club Division. My target was to train to be competitive in the ELITE 2 championship in the future. I passed the test. In the end I have to say that NASCAR makes you addicted. You will see me again soon in the ELITE 2 Division”!
On 9-10 June the Dexwet-DF1 Team is heading to Brands Hatch. The squad wants to start with two cars again. Christophe Bouchut will drive the #66 in the ELITE 1 Division again. There are negations with several drivers for the ELITE 2 cockpits. The team hopes, to close the deals soon.
